GoBright Lights of Calgary, Alberta is seeking part-time, energetic, hardworking, Junior Electrical Engineering Technologist to start as soon as possible. Work experience isn’t required as full training will be provided. Every person selected for the position will be assigned an “expert” mentor that’s responsible for ensuing the intern receives the best training the company and industry has to offer. Post-graduation full-time positions and advancement opportunities will be available for those that qualify.

Opportunity:
As an Electrical Engineer Technologist, you are at the heart of our business. Our team requires a streamlined in-house solution to ease roadblocks in installs. To maintain our high level of service and speed in the lighting industry, your goal in this position is to successfully develop install instructions with quality, efficiency, and build great relationships with our team. We need someone with a strong attention to detail, focus, but who also enjoys the mix of getting your hands dirty with operational tasks. Your thorough knowledge and understanding of our products and services will let you make great recommendations to every customer, and build trust.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Willingness to travel and work remote
- Execute engineering activities (Concept, Front End Engineering Development, Technical Study & Detailed Design)
- Ensure that designs comply with the relevant Codes, Standards, Regulations and Procedures
- Understand and implement the GoBright Lights circuits with appropriate power and control methodology
- Ensure GoBright Lights designs are in line with the low voltage electrical requirements
- Ensure power connection, cable type and length, trace ratio, sheath temperature, heat loss and the appropriate safety factor is applied for the GoBright Lights designs
- Ensuring that the GoBright Lights design and tracking are kept up-to-date
Required Skills and Experience:
- Electrical Engineering Degree or Electrical Engineering Technologist diploma
- Ability to execute project deadlines and meet targets
- No work experience required
- Must be a self-starter, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong client focus with demonstrated ability to deliver excellent customer service
- Must have a strong work ethic and be reliable
- Strong communication skills with values that align with a culture of mutual respect, teamwork and high ethical standards
- Able to expedite issues in a large multi-discipline team to work towards resolution
- Knowledge of lighting products or relevant industry relationships is an asset
- Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat and Excel is helpful but not required
